Can we view our loved one in the Chapel of Rest?

We ask you please to telephone, to let us know what time you will be coming, so we can make sure everything is ready for you when you arrive. We are aware that this is the last time you will be seeing your loved one, so we try our best to make this experience a pleasant memory. However, we cannot be held responsible for any unfortunate results due to anyone touching the deceased.

Can we have music played at the funeral service?

For a funeral service in Church

Please speak to the minister officiating the service as their permission is needed.

Sometimes music can be played as the coffin is carried into and out of the church.

We ask if you could give the required CD(s) or audio tape(s) to the minister taking the service with the following details:

  • CD(s)

name of deceased
day, date and time of the service
when in the service the CD(s) is/are to be played
track number and name of the music

  • Audio Tape(s)

name of deceased
day, date and time of the service
when in the service the tape(s) is/are to be played
name of the music on the tape(s)

NOTE: Please ensure that there is only ONE song/hymn on each tape so that there are no mistakes.

If no music is requested, the organist will play something appropriate on entry and exit.

For a funeral service at the Crematorium

All music is downloaded (Mintlyn Crematorium do not accept any CD music).

Music can be played as the coffin is carried into the chapel, during the service (if not a Religious service) and when we exit the Chapel.

All we need to know is the title of the song/hymn and the artist/composer as soon as possible.

Important Note: If requests are NOT received 72 hours prior to the funeral, the crematorium will NOT be able to play the music.

If no music is requested, the organist will play something appropriate on entry and exit.

Note: You can request music that is not in Mintlyn Crematorium music library.

What are Doctors' forms?

When a funeral is a cremation, two Doctors must attend and certify the death. The first Doctor must be the Doctor who attended the deceased during his/her last illness. The duty of the second Doctor is essentially one of confirmation. This Doctor must not be related to the first Doctor either through family or practice.

For this service, each Doctor makes a separate charge which we, the Funeral Director, pay on behalf of the deceased's family. We will liaise with the necessary Doctors to have these forms completed on your behalf.
