Help With Costs

Under certain circumstances the person responsible for making the funeral arrangements may be eligible for a contribution towards the funeral expenses from the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) (formerly Department of Social Security).

This will generally apply should there be insufficient funds available to cover the costs of a funeral and if either you or your partner are existing recipients of DWP benefits. For a claim to be processed, a form SF200 'Funeral Payments from the Social Fund' will need to be completed by the claimant and sent, together with a copy of the funeral account, to the nearest Jobcentre Plus.

For more information please visit the DWP website - click here.
